Weighted Terms

Has anyone found that having terms like "blog" or "wiki" on your site, has increased your rankings?

Huh? My question was whether or not Google gives an increase weight to sites with "blog" and "wiki" found within the context.

I've seen absolutely no indications that having "blog" or "wiki" terms on my site has done anything for me in terms of rankings.

I've never heard of that connection before.

Yea I agree there is no way putting those words will simply increase your ranking. If only it were that easy.

Perhaps someone who has a blog on their site, with lots of relevant articles/content would rank higher b/c of those factors, but simply having the words blog/ wiki on your site are not going to increase you in the SERPS

That's right. The words alone cannot increase the rankings. Maybe those experiencing such phenomena have keyword rich content for these two particular keywords and rank higher for keyword phrases that include them.
