I left a response, but I am not sure if it went through or not because the page just disappeared after I left a comment. Anyway, this is what I said (or something similar).

Ya mean there are no short cuts? We actually have to work?

I've read it, the most interesting is #10 "The people who really do know don’t tell". That's true, I believe. There's very few seo experts and a huge amount of seo amateurs asking each other for advice, that's why a forum is a partial solution of the problem, for hundreds of amateurs we may be lucky to have some pros.

Even the big SEO companies like SEO Inc and Axandra have lost their rankings in Google, and we can learn from them. Shortcuts or gray-hat techniques may work over a short time, but once such techniques are overused by many, they come under the radar of search engines. So I also feel the 12-month strategy is a wise one, though it involves learning, time and efforts.

Yeah, great post indeed, although in my experience Meta Tags do matter, especially the Title. I've noticed Google places in the supplemental results pages with the same title. And I woulnd't like my pages to go there. So if a SEO firm tells me to change that, I'll know why. Besides, I am not really pro search engine submissions (as suggested in A Successful Site In 12 Months). I happen to know that google is a slow indexer. Oh... we could debate on this forever.

All in one: great post! Congrats!

Very good post. I think paying more attention to building your site for the people - instead of tricky SEO tricks - makes sense.
