It can often be hard to demonstrate the value of natural serps to a client when quoting a price for your services, Unless they have been at the paid serps/ads etc. game for some time and know their budget well and what their roi's are for various programs. Then they typically get it faster.
Many business owners have little idea of what natural serps are and their value so in order to not overwhelm them with technical jargon and demonstrate the value of natural serps, I try to come up with comparatives, basic I know, but often helpful.
I wanted to offer a comparative to customers to demonstrate one possible way of measuring the value of the natural serps I deliver for an existing client.
Far from all inclusive of "value" this would not take into account the addtional value of natural serps such as higher trust by the reader, higher clickthrough rates, higher closing numbers, the list goes on, this is only ONE measure of bare minimum value.
One way I thought of shwoing value was to take a # from the server log files be it hits, page views, unique visitors and multiply that times the bid minimum of .10 cents.
So, if I were to create a report showing unique visitors x .10 for a given month, then they could see what it would cost using ppc at .10 at least.
I know it is not entirely an accurate measurment as it does not take into account Direct Requests which could be from any # of sources if they have the sites url in printed media etc.
Just trying to come up with some comparatives for demonstrating the value of natural serps in actual numbers and reviewing if this is a legitimate comparative overall or at least as a guide to show clients.
That is why I am looking to see what number from the server logs would be measured times the min. .10 cents.
Sorry for the long winded clarification but this may also yeild more positive responses with posts offering alternative methods of how others offer up the value of their natural serp services to clients.
I do typically include some data and articles showing some of the paid verses natural info. too when pitching seo/sem services.
This was more for showing the value being delivered after services have been in use some time as many businesses have a hard time measuring their roi for seo/sem services if they are not selling online such as localized retailers and service based businesses.
Again, the answer of which # to use for the method above?
IF it is in fact a fair way of demonstrating value of services?
Also a new thread by someone well versed over many years in How To Demonstrate Value Of Natural SERPS To Clients, both when pitching for new services and for reinterating the value of existing services would probably be a great topic. (Probably already covered by someone somewhere.)
Thanks!
Frank
