Hi guys, how do you judge a link page? What are important points you check before you put your link request there, where your site link will be visible.

Check out the backlinks going to THEIR site.
Ensure they're legitimate and on topic. You don't want to see 10,000 backlinks from guestbooks and blog spam.

How do you judge a link page ?
1. Does the website look sketchy ?
- stay away if it does.
2. Do they have a link to their links directory from the homepage?
- if they don't, its usually best to stay away unless you can see that the page already has PR.
3. Is the page cached ?
4. Try to stay away from pages that have more than 30 links.
5. Stay away from link pages where your link is going to be sandwiched between a viagra link and another link that has nothing to do with your theme.
6. Look to get listed on pages with other websites that are related to yours.

Check backlinks and outbound links.
If site is related to yours, and if are backlinks good (your or similar neighbourhood) and if it not link to some spammy sites you could request a link there.
Check also title, the better if it hasn't got any word like links or webmaster..

Avoid spammy sites.
Check the page rank and use a "Fake Rank Checker" tool to ascertain the true PR.
Try to have links on pages which are contextual to your themes.

All of the above advice plus make certain that the links on the page don't use redirects or the nofollow attribute.

I think the most important is if the page is cached and how often is the page crawled.

I'm using bookmarklets for checking cache.
You can find it here:
http://ostermiller.org/bookmarklets/cache.html
Just drag that to your toolbar.

The most important... check if linkpage indexed by Google.
Some webmasters use "nofollow" or make search engines not to crawl link page, it gives them chance to make link from your site as "one way" link.

I wrote this tool as a simple check of a page's value to you as a link partner.
Checks if page is cached, counts number of outbound links, pagerank, homepage PR, whether words such as "casino" or "viagra" appear on the page etc etc etc. Checks whether page is nofollow etc.
Gives a value from 0 - 10 which is a rough indication of quality. May be a useful tool to some.

the advice in this category is heartily accepted but i still have one silly doubt. Is there any difference or correlation between page rank and page strength?

I guess that would depend on what you mean by page strength. If what you mean is how a site ranks in a particular search query for any given word, then yes, there is a relationship, but hardly. PR is only 1 of ~100 factors that help to determine the value of a page in relationship to a search term.
