I found NH state newspaper with pr5, 3500 indexed pages with unique contest, many years online, thousands good backlinks... and no traffic!!!
Only 10-15 visitors a day.
I think, the problem is that search engines ignore this site thinking that NH news will be not interested for people in France, Germany, Ney York etc.
So, in this case SERPS killed this website.

Well, that's obviously a local paper. Why should the news be relevant for people in France or Germany. Those born in NH surely know about the site and they visit it. I think I can see the problem though: no revenue from the Adsense Ads. Then the paper should change its target or at least go for a broader audience. And there are other problems too: lack of structure, not so great titles and so on.

Its a wordpress blog as well powering it I think, the URL's are kind of long winded just to get at the content, also the site doesnt work too well in Firefox which would put me off straight away. (Text links bouncing all over the place because of a different font size or bolding).

Probably the main reason is backlinks, its PR4 at the moment with only a few links (~500). I have a site with over 10k links coming in and its only PR5 and gets about 30 visitors a day.

Long way to go this site has to get anywhere.
