The main concept of SEO is backlinks, isnt it? That is all I do for SEO, is there anything else I can do?

"On-page SEO" is the stuff, oddly enough, on your pages. Most importantly, put your keywords first in the title element (also known as "page titles"):

All search engines love content but sadly links can help you more then good content and if you have both then you rule

Good high quality IBL´s and a lot of content that is well structured on your site is all you got to have in order to suceed.

If you want to do more advanced SEO the best thing is problably to make some research yourself.

The relevancy of the page for query is the main concept.

With backlinks you can rank today, but in the future I'm not sure that will be all about backlinks.

Relevancy is the number 1 to think of.

For me, the main concept of SEO is... the users! They are the onese going online and "searching". That's why we should optimize for them first. Google's LSI proves me right.

-backlinks

-having pages based around popular search phrases and lots of them

-proper use of title, H1 tags, description

-using htacess to make sure you pr isnt split, getting rid of www or index.htm or whatever, make sure all your deep pages point back to the same page

-frequently updating your page

-forums so you have a community and your community will make pages for you

given those facts about backlinks and other concepts...

but as for me, the main concept of SEO is optimizing your site for your target visitors and not for SEs. as said, SEO is an art and not a science.

Not just backlinks. Also consider the traffic, keywords, and SERP ranking

LOL, you have a point, but there are sites that ranked high in SEs having less links. Although links are also used to bring in traffic.

Yes they are but number and quality of links combined with anchor text used give your site a good or bad ranking. Not to forget content (Yahoo loves content

)....

Sites that have less links a rank well becuse they have links with better quality, they have more content, they are older, they have keywords in a domain name etc...

quality contents and backlinks are the things you have to improve to not just you BLs...SEO is a continuous process...you need patience on doing this...

quality content to please visitors is the main thing. after all that is also what SE are loonking for. (of course lots of back links too)

some people focus too much in writing websites for SE and forget about the visitors.
