New Search Engine

I just saw a post about a new search engine and I wanted to hear other comments about it.

Could this be another google?

I think there never will be another Google becuse if someone builds better search engine Google will simply buy it from them

They have been around for just over two years now and I am starting to use them now. I like the easy layout and one thing I really enjoy is the tool that I added to my blog site. It allows you to see the look of a links website before you visit just the same as they do it on Snap.com.

As for their search results they are building their own database, but they still have portions of their results coming from others. Below is that list from their site.

Their advertising program for those that are looking for low cost advertising is pretty nice as well. Take a look at my latest article on my blog and it tells you more about that. You pay for conversions and not clicks in their model and that can be helpful to those that are try to maximize their advertising money.

Will it be the next Google? Hard to say, but anything is possible if it catches on.

That search engine is annoying to use imo. I don't think it's an improvement or will compete with google.

I rather like being able to see what the site looks like before I go to it. Sometimes you click on a link with the others and you get nothing more then a spam site or one that is no longer active.

The interface is too poor. Nothing more than a gimmick imo.

I still like the simplicity of Google. The previews are not bad, but... do I really need them? I prefer to be able to read relevant information and find what I need fast. As far as SNAP goes... it's just eating up my time.

The only way I can think of it being useful is if it was done in a tooltip style fasion. I cannot use my middle mouse button to scroll in that interface and the pics eat up space. I scroll by pressing my middle mouse button down.

No snap has a long way to go. And at the moment it depends on ask search results.

I think you are right. I would prefer to have the image of the site load if I scrolled my mouse over the link and not show directly next to the listings as they currently do. This way I could read more pertinent info on the site. I do like the image feature, but in a tool tip way this would be much better.
