What is your time worth ?

I deal with people all day long that I have a hard time getting them to comprehend the difference between a domain that is online and optimized/getting traffic, as opposed to starting a site from scratch, and the time and effort involved in doing so..

What do you think your time is worth in "dollars per hour", to start with a $7 domain, and apply all the SEO, Indexing, ect, to get it generating steady traffic, say 40 uniques a day, How much real value (dollars per hour x the actuall amount of hours worked from start to that point) is that worth to you?

It has been said before, but I think it really would depend on the niche. If the niche is highly competitive, it would cost more than if it was a less competitive niche.

Agreed, but on an average. Just a regular old website. Something for a small business, like "Beans" or something.
How much more is an average domain worht if the indexing and SEO has been done.
For instance: SNOTGARBAGE.COM, as a domain is worth $7. How much, in man hours is SNOTGARBAGE.COM worth if it is Optimized, and indexed?

(by the way, last time I liiked it was available)

thats an impossible question to answer

A site usually becomes successful because its owner scratches and claws his/her way into success, trying harder and harder to think outside the box. Im not one of those people whos into targetting keywords and grabbing up domains for upcoming things I think will be popular.

A domain or site can be rendered useless pretty quick. Lets say I have a site for the TV show "lost" and get thousands of uniques a day. Three years down the line the show goes off the air and and I only get 1/20th the traffic I had before. Is my domain still worth all the hardwork I put into it?

Maybe sentimental value, I don't think anyone will sell something that is giving them free money. I've been spending alot of time in the sell your website section and it seems 75% of the offers are cons and ripoffs.
