Tips and Benefits of Article Submission
Tips for Article Submission Campaign:
1. Make sure you have reread and corrected all misspelled words or grammar errors before submitting your article because you will lose credibility with a lot of mistakes in your work.
2. Keep the Article short, concise and include the most important information - your name, a few attractive sentences about what your site offers and the most prominent link (URL) to your website.
3. If an article directory supports HTML code (or Rich Text Editor support), don't type your URL in its entirety. Use it with the anchor text (keyword) that you want to build back links for. With different directories, you should vary this anchor text which points to different pages in your website.
4. Do not submit to hundreds of article directories in a short period of time.
5. Always try to avoid duplicate article submission in the same directory.
6. Do read the article directory guidelines for submissions.
7. Your article also needs to have some substance of use to the visitor. An article that is an advertisement in disguise will probably not fool many people.
Benefits of Article Submission
1. Brand-name Awareness
When your articles are published by numerous websites and newsletters across the web, with your name or company's name displayed in the byline of those articles, one major benefit is that your (or your company's) name becomes well-known. So if visitors frequently come across your name when reading articles about (say) "Electronics Goods", in their minds, you will become an authority on that subject. The next time they encounter your recommendations, they are more likely to give it a higher regard.
2. Attracting Visitors to Your Site
Article submission helps your site to get some relevant traffic (When you write articles your byline should include your URL to take advantage of this).
3. Increase in Your Page Rank
Google counts a site's importance by the number of links pointing to it. If your article is syndicated by many sites, the number of links pointing to your site will also increase (provided of course those sites publish your byline with a direct link to your site).
4. 'Article Syndication ‘
Best part of Article Submission is 'Article Syndication'. If your article is good then it’s published or you can say Syndicated to more Article websites.

Good statement, hmmm, defying tip number 4 is very impossible. You can't just do 100 article submissions unless you really want to spend your SEO whole day to spam for your site.
By the way, another tip... Links must be put in resource box (or in your main content if your brave enough).

I will suggest to go for 35-50 submissions per day.

Very good discussion.
One more point likes to add:
Don't forget about your visitors when you are writing an article. Make sure your articles are really providing the relevant information to your visitors, which they are searching for. This will spread your name along with your site name very steadily.

Yes, it is true. You need to make leave link back to your site having your keywords as anchor on article.
Frankly saying, If you succeed in getting links from few high PR sites via article then tons of traffic flow in and site ranked in top positions in serps.
If you succeed in doing this, then get ready to pay more for your bandwidth.

Thanks for the list of article directories.
Do you guys submit one article to multiple directories? Or is it all unique content each time?

Better, hmmm, 35 is average, 50 is too much but might help. But more than that... Spamming I think.

Yup! More than 50 submissions per day are called unnatural promotion (spam)....I also think so.

Yes, But if you have 2-3 article you can submit each article in a batch of 100 Article Directories. This might help you to have more back links with different Acnhor texts.
Its my suggestion but I would love to hear from the SEOguru's whether it's fine or not!
