i suggest it depends on the number of inbound links that you already have. too much article and press release submission is not good, it may be treated as spam and a fast increase in the number of inbound links might cause decrease in rankings..

I think a decent amout of articles/press releases would be of 1 or 2 per week.
You should focus on quality rather than quantity and spread your unique articles accross different articles directories.
Also I think you can not send so many press releases, does your company feature a new important event each week?
