Don't trust Link Exchange websites.

For example: Nice smart student http://www.cs.ucsb.edu/~htang/ with pr4 website keep links of interests. He don't hide his e-mail and i think is a very friendly person. He got some "Classic music" links. Create website about classic music and write him e-mail about your site. Write 200-500 emails to the same students, colleges, composers, classic music bloggers etc and you will get nice links and e-mails from them about nice resource. 3-5 monthes later switch your site to porn or casino and job well done.
Not even.... Go throught "Nirvana" or "Metallica" fan websites and you will see the same situation where it is easy to sign guestbook, write e-mail, website suggestions. 15 years old kids will be happy to link your "cool ROCK website" and tell all their friends who will write about your site in their LiveJournals and Facebook profiles. Later you will have good online casino with pr6. Anyway, i hate people who does that.
I am sick to see commas as anchor text in forums and link to porn sites.
Example: , - comma is a link to v7n homepage. Thank's god "nofollow" exist

absolutely , the smae story and for me, i will left link exchange community, in tha same time i don't have any backlinks via google from them

That's only because many of webmasters and SEOs are not trusting Link2me and LinkMarket link exchanging. Even I don't.

I used to simply send LE proposal to webmasters of website that i want to link with.

And got the link.

Good strategy. Little hard and somethimes not responce after 100 e-mails. But it worth it when you find pr5 link.

Yes, this is a good streategy, Forums can also help in finding good link partners.

why dont you guys try wrting some articles, it can help a lot.
of course you need at least write 10 articles if you really want to get good link.

Somethimes articles can work the same way like a website... My friend got bunch business partners and clients throught articles.

- I do some research and I find that exchange links work for some people very well but with two conditions:
1- related websites
2- the most important: Url and the title of the page where the link direct to your website should contain your keywords.
- forum can help you to get high pagerank it's ok , but it is not usually that can help you to rank well, the only condition that all forums that you participate are contain your keywords and all threads title have your keywords which is not usually possible.
- conclusion: anchor text and url and title of the page play a huge importance to rank well, forum , articles marketing,... high page rank and some traffic.
if you have backlinks tool you can test with the top ranked in your niche market.

The benefit writing some articles, you can write and put your keywords inside your article and search engine will see you get link from relevance page. that's will boost you pr.

well from my experience, i got only 3 link exchange which boost my pr into pr 3, i think this is because i link with relevance website.
from forum i still dont get any link. although i already write many in forum.

i already hame more that 50 link from link exchange site but google shows 0 backlinks from this sites, i will drop this service and will not spend more time for this

there are many reasons for that.
1. maybe search engine not yet found your link.
2. maybe your link put deep inside subcategory (more than 3 mouse-click away from exchange link directory home). so search engine do not found your link or the page where you put your link fall into supplemental page.

In my experienced i also put my link in many site such as in article directory, forum and directory. but only 3 give me backlink. one of them from forum and article directory. this will give me proof that writing article is working to give me backlink. and i got pr 3 from only those 3 backlink.

Check your backlinks with msn and yahoo instead - if they can see them, so can google.

i alredy done with this and the difference is huge, like for backlinks and page popularity via some SEO tools

Anyway, if you exchange links a lot and 60-80% of your backlinks are reciprocal... you drop in search engines every time when they change something....
