Can anyone suggest a counter?

Hi all,

I currently have three stat trackers. Two (awstats and webalizer) are included through my host. I also have StatCounter.

Yesterday they ranged from 98 unique visitors to 250. Anyone know which tracker is most accurate?

Webalizer counts search bots and other bots as unique visitors, that's why they show more uniques than awstats, which doesn't do that.

I prefer Awstats though.

I use Awstats. Realize that they all have flaws in showing traffic. Just make sure to be consistent from month to month and use the numbers as comparisons from month to month or week to week, etc.

Google analytics is the obvious choice. It does not count users without JS enabled however they often make up for less than 5% though no one knows for sure.

All stats packages have their flaws. I have most of the ones mentioned here and use them more to compare relative growth. For example I generally notice Google Analytics showing about half as much as awstats, but if traffic is up 20% in one it usually is up a similar percentage in the other.

I look more at the growth than the actual numbers. If I have to pick numbers I go with whichever one says I have the lowest traffic since it makes me work harder to improve it.
