Yahoo pays more attention to website domain name.

Maybe it is just my opinion.
Promoting websites i found that it is harder to get nice positions on Yahoo if your website domain name is not related to content.
If your site about relationships.... you will be on top of Yahoo faster if your name Relationship-123-guide dot com than website with name 1234orangedream dot com .
MSN and Google pay less attention to domain name.
Your opinion?

Humm.... don't know but for me Yahoo has always worked out nicely.

And I have seen some branded domains beating the keyword domains in the yahoo index.

even google and Msn give more importance to keywords in the domain name.

Yahoo give more attention to web site listed in Yahoo directory.

At the end, it is difficult to make an idea because we have an equation with many variable factors.

I assurer you Google does not!

Yahoo and MSN may appear to do so but this could also be perceived impression due to other ranking factors that typically put large sites at a disadvantage and larger sites tend not to put KW in URLs.

Not really. If the domain contains "rich" amounts of keywords it may appear unprofessional or spammy.

Anyway... My website called "Manhattan Service" and it is SEO website.
I rank pretty well on Google and MSN with regular SEO and webmaster resources keywords...
Yahoo from the first day of my website existance rank me well when people are looking SEO company in Manhattan and it gives me no positions when people are looking for regular SEO or even SEO in Boston (where i am located)

Who is ranking for the keywords you are going for in Yahoo? Are they sites that have been around for a long time? Are those sites listed in the Yahoo directory? Do those sites that are ranking for the keywords you are going for have those keywords in their domain name? There may be other mitigating circumstances beyond having keywords in your internet address that may be causing a low ranking in Yahoo.

It is true, Yahoo does seem to favor keywords in the URL and even in the domain name.

I see that MSN and yahoo both place importance on keyword phrases in the domain names. After a certain theshold ILBS take importance. So I think that low competative keyword phrases domain stuffed domains are important.
One example is the site. www.ocean-front-property-costa-rica.com that's comming up in the top ten in yahoo and google for the search phrase.

So, when shopping for a domain name I suggest taking all of the keyword phrases from wordtracker and replacing the spaces with dashes and then looking them up to see if they are available in godaddy.

It is not really important. You can pick propertyinmassachusettsforsale and search engine will recognise it.

I even see Google high lighting keywords in the url but don't know how much or if they give them any weight at all.

I think MSN pays the most attention to keywords in domain names. Yahoo pays attention to some other bizarre factors which are unknown to me. It's really a strange algorithm which behaves irrationally.
