So, who can afford? I think that Statcounter worth it.

I think the question is are the backlinks you pay 1000$ for gonna bring you greater profits?

W3C has the nofollow tag in the metatags. Will this site pass pr? If not, is it worth a $1000 bucks? Just a thought...

Well, if you can get PR8 from the next update it is worth investing.

Link sales alone can cover the cost.

http://www.w3.org/Consortium/sup is NOFOLLOWED ie. not worth the money because its not a "vote"

Where did you find it that StatCounter was $1000 a month?

Last time i talk to the statcounter guy he quoted me 2500$/month and i did think about buying the link but then later found that google may devalue it manually like in the case of phpbb and w3c links.
May be iam wrong too

I am not sure about http://www.statcounter.com/. They just gave me 2,500 Euro/month price quote. A little bit outrageous. Links can't cost that must. There must be a point when something is not worth to buy any more. If we take all volatility of the Internet into consideration, of course.

statcounter.com might be the only site in the world with a PR10 who actually sells links without NOFOLLOW

THey could charge 5g a month and people would probably still buy as long as the PR game is around.

WC3 have so many outgoing links on the page I'll be very surprised if it passes more than a PR3/4

Statcounter doesn't seem to pass more than a PR6 juding by the PR of the sites it links to. For that kind of money you're better off buying 4/5 good PR6 links.

OK, about Stat counter i was little confused...
But think it that way.... If your site pr7 and you paid statcounter 2500 EURO ($3000).... i guess you will get pr 8 with next update.
You can sell 20 links from your homepage for $200/month and 10 links from 10 other (pr6-7) pages for $50/ month. You will get $4000+$5 000=$9000.
Moreover, you can sell links from your pr5 pages for $5-$10/month and open paid directory with $20-50 for lifetime link.
It is huge ammount of money you can make.
Don't forget that StatCounter link will bring you nice traffic.

I totally agree that it will not pass PR becuase StatCounter is unique and the method at which they gain PR is totally unfair (but not really spammy...just jammy).

Agree. They got their PR in a very dubious way. It's still under the question. Therefore, it's kinda risky to stick with them.
