Yahoo Rankings question
Hi! SEO Expert. I wanna ask if there's a change in algorithm of Yahoo. Before I thought that Yahoo gives more importance to content but now I'm thinking if stills work on my site. The sites is rich in content but I don't know what happens. Some of my targeted keywords has good rankings in google and MSN but in Yahoo out of 10 keywords I only see 2 keywords that has rankings in top 100 of Yahoo. Any suggestion or reaction are welcome.

Also check your inbound links, I guess your inbound links might be not very good.

No the site has already 5,437 backlinks from yahoo. The site is www(dot)tvaddicts(dot)tv

i'm with you on this. my targeted keywords have no place in Yahoo SERPS top 100. though Google and Msn ranks it well

I still think that Yahoo gives some weight to the on-page optimisation, while Google is much more focused on domain authority. I´ve got a PR7 site with high authority that is doing great on Google, but there´s no way to get it ranking on Yahoo.

Same here, Yahoo is not ranking well my site, even with rich contents, related links and Yahoo sitemap.

Also ranking change everyday, yahoo is not stable for ranking, one day first page with one keyword, next day 4th page with same keyword.

Yahoo don't obey to robot.txt either.

You asked if there was a change in algorithm and yes there was a change about 2 weeks ago. I not worry all that much about my Yahoo rankings because Google owns most of the market share. If you can rank good in Google then count Yahoo as a bonus.

Janna, where is your targeted market? If it's in America you might need to make an effort in Yahoo, as it has around a 21% market share. If your market is in Europe I wouldn't even bothered, as in UK Yahoo! just has 8% market share

that's a good point.. i'm just curious why does my keywords do not rank in Yahoo, when it has good position in Google.

but at least, i have good positions at Google who is the most popular SE

I get it from Hitwise.co.uk and Hitwise.com. It was also said in the London SES Conferences in February from different sources.

What you have to do is to analyze the high ranked pages in Yahoo for your keyword, you might find out the reason
