I have never tried it because I prefer doing manual submission. And it's worth to keep waiting for its approval.

Again I will say that I believe this to be an obsolete practice.

I would beg to differ, so long as the directories you are submitting to are good quality ones, the search engines will definitely value them. If it were an obsolete practice, you wouldn't have directories like BOTW & Yahoo! thriving today... Remember the saying... "Old is Gold"
As for using Submit Edge, I don't know about them since I haven't used them, but one service that I would surely give a thumbs up is Directory Maximizer, their's is an amazing service.

Just because a service exists should not be a measure of whether the service is still valid. Yahoo is still around because people are still willing to pay, but that has no direct correlation to its current value.
People still sell submission services but that only assures that you are paying for a mostly useless service. As far as that goes people still sell link networks. I have studied these things carefully and have found my ROI is minimal for using link directories.
Take that time that you invest with directories can create a very useful link bait and you will be way ahead of the game.

I have used Submit Edge quite a bit. It's a quality service. Basically, it's a bunch of people in India who submit your website manually to directories.
The cool thing -- you create the anchor text and descriptions as opposed to them making it up and getting you screwed.
I'd highly recommend the service, given the low ROI of directory submissions.

Manually Submission is very much beneficial then using any software because you can use your targeted key phrases as Title in submission for better results.

Submit Edge is NOT a software. It's actually people from India who submit to directories.

If people are willing to pay, they obviously seem to be getting their monies worth, coz I don't believe there are too many people out there willing to burn up $299/year if things aren't working.
Also, if there's something that's been around for a long time, that's testimony enough that it's working successfully, as if it weren't people wouldn't allow it to survive, especially in the online world. There have been several services started by BIG search engines, that have been shut down almost immediately due to their failure in customer satisfaction.
While I would agree with you that link bait could give far better results, I would just like to conclude by saying that submitting to directories will also benefit. It's never advisable to put all your eggs in one basket, and this is just another place where this saying would hold good.

Agree with the above posts. Manual submission is still the best.
