Doing submissions by yourself and manually is the best, but also the most tedious way how to get links. Anyway, directories are good until you start getting natural links by people who you don't know. Such links exist on forums, related sites, etc, etc.

I don't have the patience to manually submit to hundreds of directories - it's really tedious work! That's why I hire people You can usually get a good service to submit to hundreds of PR4+ directories for less than $20. Why would you spend a day when they offer to do it that cheap!

hm, one of my friends uses such submission service. number of incoming links to his site lacks and increases very slowly.
BTW, I do the submission service, but I ask $14 per hour, since it's all done manually. It's a great difference I think if you compare my work to someone's who "does" the same for few bucks. The result is different too....

Keep in mind you can use these directory submission software, but if I was you submit them by hand, and keep each description unique, thats always the key in success, unique website are the best

For me, I usually submit to 100 directories or so per week.
So it will not be that tedious and the links look natural.

It is always easier to pay somebody to do directory submission for you but I would definately recommend you did it yourself. It may take more time and effort but at least you know it is getting done the way you want it to be done

Just wonder how you keep each description unique if you submit your site to 100 directories. Do you have 100 unique description for each directory?
Or 100 unique title for each directories?

Title - varying (about 5 unique titles at all),
Description - the same. It doesn't matter.

I've got to admit I'm not very good with words so I needed a company to write a sales pitch in grammatically correct English in which the content was optimised for a specific keyword "BOYS SUITS" for my new shopping site http://www.smallnsmart.com
Submitedge seemed look the company for the job so I paid my monies and this is what I got
Boy Suits
