The best program is the google analytics which u already know..
Dont know about others and never checked others as i loved analytics

It's not the best, but it is free...Can't complain about that.

There's quite a few better programs out there that are easier to use and give you more info, as well as better customization and reporting options. I'm partial to Hitslink. There's some other good ones out there...all better than Analytics. Awstats is good but it doesn't give the whole picture. I really think you need both a server side stat program (like Awstats) and a client side stats program to work together (like Hitslink or Analytics) in order to get a full picture.

(On a side note...You might wonder why Google would give out something like Google Analytics for free...So they can gather even more stats to use in their algorithms....Sneaky, but smart!)

I was using Urchin before after trying several web analytics before it was bought by Google, so it did the job for me... now it's improved and free.

Personally, I like using a combo of Awstats and Hitslink, but there are some other really good commercial packages too. I've also built some custom tracking software in PHP that we use for our sites and for clients' sites.

I hear ya though...if one works for you there's no reason to switch. In my opinion, it's a little clunky to access the data in Analytics. You can create custom reports in Hitslink and that's a feature most clients like. I'd say that one mark of a good stats program is the kind of reports it generates and level of customization in your stat tracking.

I have used web trends, click tracks & google analytics. Google analytics is free and you can use it to get the info about the website stats. It is a very good tool.

can u explain how to use both of them ?
i checked awstats but it says i've ti install some perl pack. ,..... i cann't understand how to install it..

hitslink looks good i'll check it............

Yes I use it in the same website. Google analytics is good for monthly report and has many features. While in statcounter I can see the exact URL on where my traffic came from.
