I would like to start a website on SMS & Jokes. So I thought of to make search on Google to see the related sites. I have found so many sites are using same jokes & SMS on their site. Doesn’t it fall under duplicity? Or it is avoided.

Isn't duplicate content based off of url's on your own site? Or am I mistaken...

I am sure someone here can explain a bit better than me, but I experience this all the time with my site when I type "site:www.johninjapan.com" in google, then click to about page 20 and you will get the following message:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 198 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

Google thinks that it is duplicate content, but it's probably my CMS and my poor Open-SEF implimentation. At least, when I hear duplicate content, that's what I consider it to be.

i don't think so...IMO SE will just consider your site duplicate if it has the same contents on the inner pages from another site...

I think it also depends on how your site is set up. Every single one of my images indexed in Virtuemart goes into suppliment. When I used to own ida-japan.com I had hundreds of images indexed with Virtuemart also and they also never got into the Google results. I think maybe a handful ever got in.
