Domain name .org SERP disadvantage

hi all, i bought 5 .org domains and currently trying to seo it and trying hard to make it appear first page in SERP for the keywords. In my case, the keyword is the domain name. with no extra character or "-" etc.

I found out, its harder to rank a .org, than rank a .com.
i know because i have 10 .com running, and they ranked fast...compare to these .org

Is this a fact??

This is not true. Do you have the same links, is their age the same? Is content the same? i count on that they're not.

I'm a co-owner of more org domains and I can tell you that they're getting traffic based on quality instead of domain type.

There's no difference in difficulty of ranking .com, .org or anything else. There must be other factors involved.

i was thinking the same before i actually getting 7 .org sites.

indeed in SP forum.. the debat is much more hot, and indeed there is 10% of them experiencing this. i got no way to proof it, but can sense its diffuculties is higher to rank it.

There is no difference in getting top ranking between .com, .org or other derivatives.

TLD Myth!

Any domain could rank top on the serps...try this search marketing and u'll more likely see aaron's site at #3 and his is a .info domain.

^^ I was about to post the same thing. Perform any number of searches and you will see plenty of .info or .org names in the top 10.

no this is not true, all domains rank the same, now I'm sure you've heard of .gov websites carry better link profiles, of course they do there .gov site, its not becuase the domain extension is .gov, its just typically these websites carry better link profile then what other sites do, a .gov file has some legit links to it that are valued by google.

the .org .net, and etc makes no difference, but build a strong website, and uniqueness content, and provide several links to your website, and you should be fine.

In fact I've noticed a trend that .org sites are rising in popularity (with people). (Remember when it used to be .com or bust.) A .org web site is created to be a resource, therefore people are likely to link to it, because people are getting more cautious about linking to sites that are too commercial or "salesy". Links are what count most in SEO. (Of course, people won't link to it without good content.) So if you have a site with a forum, or something that provides resources, info, etc., a .org can be a good choice.
