The domain age is very important for high competiton keywords, however less bearing where the competiton is lower because other factors outtrank it.

yes, domain name is important at the view point of search engine optimization, because search engines are not indexing new domain names easily now days, so if you have old age domain name, it's add on thing for search engine optimization.

the domain age is very importnat to a point, especially for very competative keywords however it is only up to a point! the diffrence between a 5 year old and 10 year old domain would not be great although the diffrence between a new domain and 5 year old domain is massive! well thats my opinion anyway!

And twitter too. I think age only matters if you are selling something. And whatever you are selling you have to build free content related to what you are selling.

The only way to make money online is to build up credibility among your customers. Having your own domain name is the first step in doing that. Your customers will feel more comfortable buying whatever it is that you are selling if you have your own domain name. It makes your customers feel that they are dealing with a large, established company, rather than with some fly by night operator.

Let's face it logically--
Firstly domains can be parked for years before a single page is written, secondly new domains are often used as 301 redirects to more established pages, this is common practice with in large company websites, lastly a site could be used by spammers for years, sold on to a new ethical owner but the domain registration will remain the same. Quality content simply does not start pouring in as soon as a domain is registered.
so, it indeed has an effect on where your site is ranked but I don't think it is as straightforward as many would like to believe.

Not all search engines treat websites equally, but I do feel Google do consider domain age as a factor in SERPs.

Yeah. You are right. According to G, domain age is an important factor. Even though I am having lot of quality back links , i could not able to attain high PR soon. Its all because of my low domain age of my site.

The age of the domain is really significant in the eyes of Google because of the backlinks implanted on different websites as well as the traffic generated by the site that which really helps on SERPs.

I think the domain age plays a very important role because it also reflects the reputation of a domain.
