Banned from MSN

I was wondering why our 7 year old website has no good SERPS at ALL on MSN but it does great on Google and Yahoo? site: www.whispy.com. Just wondering how we can fix that, if possible or what it is might be wrong ....

Thanks

Different search engines have different preferences for ranking websites. I think Google is more favourable to websites with good backlinks and MSN prefers web page optimization such as keywords etc.

its a fact that MSN is just 5% of search engine traffic in generally.
if your site already good serp in google & yahoo... thats to great to be true.

continue adding more content, as i see msn love H1 H2 H3 header.. basic html.

If you have good ratings on Google and Yahoo, your doing a great job! Each search engine uses different algorithms to rank web sites. The most common between all search engines is the CONTENT of your site. Try searching using your keywords in MSN and see the sites ranked on the first 3 pages. Ask yourself, what is different in the contents of these pages that your site does not have?

I hardly get any traffic from MSN. Also my blog is not indexed by MSN regularly. While Google & Yahoo regularly crawl and index the pages, I dont know what is the criteria to rank with MSN

MSN is more based on on-page optimisation, while Yahoo and specially Google are more focused on domain authority. I wouldn't risk changing my site to target MSN.

Every search engine ranks stuff differently, and I think google is by far the best at ranking stuff, and the easier to figure out, and easy to achieve high rankings, but with msn it likes fresh content pages, start updating your pages, or change them around a lot, and you'll notice that it will start to rank higher, "make it look active".

Also keep in mind that msn, yahoo places for values on density then what google does, you can rank in google with out a single keyword on the page, not with a competitive keyterm, but certain keywords in general, but then again if you had enough links pointing to your site with desired keyword as anchor text, you could easily obtain a high ranking in google with no density pratically at all, google loves back links.

If you have a great ranking in yahoo and google that's good since google and yahoo is the best search engine and would give you more traffic than MSN.

Yes, I agree with Janna why bother whether you rank are in MSN or not as long you rank well in this two search engines (Google and Yahoo) it's fine.

The site-age will give you a major advantage with Google and Yahoo but with MSN it don't count for much if anything, you might want to check out this article I wrote recently:

One of my competitors who I am friends with, had number one spots for many prominent keywords and was banned a couple months ago for no reason from msn. He told me that someone reported him for some reason.

MSN seems to really like blogs. Maybe you could try adding a blog somewhere on your site to help attract MSN's bots.
