Numbers in domain name

What do you think about the numbers in domain name? I mean something like 123domain.com. Is it good or bad from SEO point of view?

It depends on what you're trying to rank for. Is "123domain" the name of the company? Having a keyword in the domain name helps somewhat but getting quality links to your site (from relevant sites) with keywords in the anchor text helps more. I don't think it would hurt you too much with the search engines to have a number in the domain, but it's the consumers I'd worry about. Obviously sites that start with 123 are instantly categorized as lower quality in the minds of consumers. That's ultimately what counts because people, not search engines, are the ones who will link to your site.

its not bad, but I'd use a - between the numbers, and words, but reguardless the search engines are programmed to spot words out, there is certain functions under ajax, python they have written to find actual "written" words.

Not sure how numbers would help from an SEO point of view unless you are trying to rank for a number.

From a branding point of view, numbers suck unless they are part of your brand.

Well, I know of a very famous example which is amazon.com. Jeffrey Bezos when tried to come up with a name of his new venture, he gave it to amazon because it starts with letter a. As you know all search systems have this feature. It allows websites who are starting with a letter to rank higher in search results in comparison to other letters. It's in alphabet order. I don't know whether it's a feasible idea, but it seems that it worked well for Jeffrey in 1995...

imo... no hard is the number is at the back
i got 1 domain just did that, and seo is normal.

I don't think numbers in the domain matter from an SEO point of view....but as a user I would be skeptical buying from 123computers.com
