IWEBTOOL are they really so good?

I would like to discuss iWebTool. My confession, i don't really like this site. Their traffic is huge but they never created any good tools.
Backlink checker - iWebTool provide really cheap one which show only small piece of backlinks which is not organised in order. www.Linkvendor.com - 100 times better.
Website previewer - they just stole whole idea from SNAP
VisualPagerank - too many bugs.
Links for sale - OMG... biggest collection of online scam. 90% of this "links for sale" is a scam including Dirmania postingswho charge webmasters for pr7 links and never place them.
Forum - nothing perfect. v7n is better.
Directory - too many pages with low or 0 pagerank. Aviva directory, v7n directory, LinksJuice is a way better.

I don't think that people who long time in SEO use iWebTool. iWebTool is a big site to confuse beginners.
In this case i would like to suggest you better webmaster portals with tools like www.mypagerank.net or www.seochat.com (they also have some bad things, but at least it is running by more professional people)

Like you say it is mainly newbies who go there, many of the web designer guy's who I speak to who know very little about SEO suprisingly have heard of and use some of the stuff on Iwebtool, I think the Pr Predictor has got to be the most popular page, I remember back in the day when I worked at Bowmac.net (a very poor SEO company) the RustyBrick one ruled and I had never even heard of Iwebtool, the RustyBrick one doesn't seem to work anymore though.

Tool at Linkvendor.com is good.
Do you know how to increase the size of that image they produce?
Thanks

As far as the tools go, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. But, when you knock the forum, then I am sorry, but I take that quite personally. Iwebtool's forum does have the tendency to attract newbies. Why? Because we tend to try to be as helpful as we possibly can, and try to give the best information that we can give. It is done in a way that can be easily understood by beginners. Does that mean that everyone there has little or no knowledge? Absolutely not. The forum is actually quite friendly and helpful, much like v7n. Keep in mind that the forum isn't yet 1.5 years old.

As far as them "stealing" the website previews from snap, how many webmasters and websites do you know of that make use of original ideas? How many do you know of that don't? Having a forum is a great idea, but that doesn't make everyone but the person who thought up the idea of an online community a thief. Same goes for directories, dating sites, free mail providers, search engines, and every other site idea on the web. If it's a good idea, it's been replicated.

I don't personally make use of the tools, with the exception of the PR checker. I think there are better resources, most of which are offered by search engines, not SEO tool sites. In fact, I can't think of many truly useful SEO tools that aren't offered by search engines. With that being said, as far as trivial SEO tools go, tools intended for entertainment purposes only, I think iwebtool tools are sufficient.

In closing, we have a pretty close knit community. Thank you Bagi for your support. I know the owner of the site, I have a lot of respect for him. He has built up a great site. But I didn't see him requesting a website review. I find it a bit rude, especially when you know that members from that community frequent this forum, a lot of them, to presume that giving your opinion in such a way would be warranted without a fuss. Think of how you would feel if someone went around giving your site nasty reviews. If you don't like iwebtool, might I suggest you don't visit there.

iwebtool is great all staff are very helpful and go out of there way to help as much as they can and it is this that makes a good community. What right do you have to slag off other forums well you can take me off your members list i would rather be part of a community that as respect for others and doesnt go round using there time to slag others off i suggest you find something better to do with your time

i like some of the linkvendor tools too. fast hosting and loading there with comprehensive checking on serps position.

as for backlink / inlink checkers (other than the yahoo site explorer of course) i can't find one to beat: http://www.backlinkwatch.com/

if anyone knows of a similar tool which does more than 1000 links, SHOUT THE URL!

btw, there's a bunch of similar tools listed in bwdp.org/webmaster/tools

I never really spent much time on that forum. In fact I have spent no time at all on iwebtool forum until reading this thread and wanting to know the truth of the matter.

I'll say a few things. First, most SEO forums are crap. The reason for this is that they allow people to post anecdotal statements and pass them off as scientific truth. And a lot of those forums actually give the poster credit for having a high post count. Now, there are not a lot of people with post counts higher than mine, but that has no relation whatsoever to credibility. The only credibility anybody has is to be found in the logic of their posts, and in what they can prove.

SEO Chat is just one forum that is like this. I remember getting into an argument with one of their forum elite years ago, when they guy posted with every confidence in the world that keywords in the URL had no weight at all. Of course, this was wrong, and I took time out to prove it wrong.

But the fact is that a lot of SEO forums have people posting on them, posing as experts, without a shred of real knowledge.

I have looked into the iwebtool forum, and did some searches for commonly misstated topics, and there does seem to be a few members spewing misinformation, and probably more than I would care to have on v7n, but they seem to be corrected often, and that is a good thing. You cannot stop people from spewing misinformation, but you can and should correct them before damage is done. From the few threads I read over there, "Bagi Zoltán" seems to have a good grasp on the realities, and takes time out to correct the misinformed.

good point JS. I don't like to dis seochat because they have a nice section called 'seo professionals' where people often look to hire them. but i've seen the kind of ascii licking that members give towards the more high posting members irrespective of who's right or wrong or what evidence exists. as for iwebtool forum - i got spammed in private messages when i joined but didn't get many replies to threads....

I've been PM spammed at many forums. Did you report it? That always seems to help alleviate the trouble.

That prediction tool isn't really a tool, though. It should be for entertainment purposes only. Isn't it marked as such? If not, it should be. It's less than 50% accurate, in my experience.

Yep, it says it.....

So far with my sites, it has been 100%. But I haven't been at it long, and don't have many sites. I would say from what I've seen over the previous 3 TB exports is about 60-70% of the time it's right. That number could be off, I'll check and get back with you.

<*update*>So 3 were correct, and 2 were incorrect on the last update. That's not a very big control group, so it's really impossible to say how accurate.
