Cool Joomla

I have been using the traditional HTML website and I am thinking of switching over to the Joomla content management system.

Does this have good SEO with a view modules added? Any recommendations? My site is getting hectic without a CMS.

Thanks!

Try Drupal. Most powerful, most secure, most feature-rich CMS available on the planet Earth! You also don't have to show "powered by Drupal" in your footer. If you want to show it, that's always good for an open source software.

About SEO, any CMS that generates dynamic links is crap for SEO.

How much more powerful is Drupal in comparison to Joomla? Is it something I should definitely consider? I tried it a year or so ago and it seemed quite a bit more difficult to work with.

Any other opinions?

I use Joomla on some of my sites. There is a component called OpenSEF that will give you SEF urls. I've found that it is a big community and you can get lots of support.

Joomla + OpenSEF = very, very SEF URL's. Highly recommended, although as with all things, it has a learning curve.

Drupal is a great package as well, just different.

Joomla is an amazing system. There's some Ford vs. Chevy kinda debate surrounding it and Drupal, but from my experience Joomla is the most user friendly, forward moving system on the market.

Huge community, sef, extremely stable. Great system.

Joomla

Well IMO Joomla is much better than Drupal. I also use drupal once and I got hard time to manipulate it unlike of Joomla it so easy to manage and to edit the meta tags. Drupal!? Gosh it so hard to manage. I'm having a headache.

How easy is Joomla to use?

A little story here, if you'll indulge me.

I setup a web site for a client a couple years ago. The owner of the site was a complete web-newbie and could only surf the web and answer/write email. He had absolutely no other experience under his belt.

After about an hour of tutoring him in how to use Joomla, he was adding content, items to his shop, along with re-arranging and adding site modules to suit his own needs later on.

Even if I am approached by someone who wants a simple 2-3 page static site, I will still install Joomla (or Mambo) in order to give him/her the power to make changes themselves. No need to call me just to add or edit a simple paragraph.

I believe in giving the power to the client in regard to managing their own website. Joomla allows that. (Not that I don't enjoy the odd call-back )
