I am working as SEO exe in Pune. When I search the term "indian online" in www.google.com

It shows the 1st result as www.musicindiaonline.com

Under that it also shows the category wise inner pages. How can this be possible for a website? What steps needs to taken?

put the major keywords! actually there is a lot factor to be made. one is use the essential HTML code meta tag, title, heading, alt text and body it self but you must to consider the density and prominence of the major keywords. after that do some promotion and submission by using that keyword.

The links which you see below the main URL is given by google to sites which it considers important.

First, you need to be #1 in the SERPs.
Second, your site needs to be well-defined hierarchically and with properly individualised title and description tags.
Third, cross your fingers, because it's up to Google.
