301 redirect with anchor text

I'm thinking about changing my domain name becuase its super long, plus I want something more short, the problem is I know it passes all the links, and pr using a 301 redirect on the old domain, but does it pass the anchor text along with it?

mm, I doubt it, the PR doesn't really get passed either if you think about it. It just redirects to the new page, that new page wont get that high PR the old site had.

yes it does

yes the pr does get passed to the new page, thats what 301 redirect is good for, all your links, and etc get passed to the new domain when using a 301 redirect all search engines pass it

Darn good question, and at least in my head I could make arguments for both outcomes. I'm afraid the only way to know for sure is to try it, wait a few months, and then check out the results.
