Anchor text question
I’ve been submitting to directories and have a question about anchor text. If for one directory I use Motorcycle Helmets in my anchor text then on the next directory I use Motocross Gloves in my anchor text. Have I also optimize the key words Motorcycle Gloves and Motocross Helmets?

What I'm asking is, Is ther a need to use Motorcycle Gloves and Motocross Helmets in other directories or are the optimized by the other key words already?

You'll probably have half the link strength for each of your keywords ("motorcycle gloves" vs. "motorcycle helmets") than you would have if you used "motorcycle glovas and motorcycle helmets" for all of your submissions.

Thanks, I've got so many key words it's not practical for me to directlly market all of them. It's good to know that it helps a little.

Repeating a keywords no. of times is just like spamming..For example if you are using motorcycle helmets all the time, then SE will take it as spam..So better if you change your keywords to related keywords

Change your keywords in links to semantic variations.
Too many same text keyword terms and you'll surely end up in the "Miserable Failure" filter.

if you can get away with your anchor text as the title, do it, try to make it look good though, and possibly add your company name after it, but the anchor text you use, is your keywords in the search engines .
other words its link love

Used both anchor text but make sure to check the strength of keywords. You can used both anchor text in submitting to directories.

If your targeting those keywords it's good to use them as anchor text. This will help you improve your rankings.

Just mix your anchors - this is the best method and it looks the most natural.

Yeah... I agree. Mix matching your anchor texts with your keywords is the way to do it.

Solid advice Peter,
using the same anchor text for all your link building efforts looks artificial in the eyes of the search engines and you will lose some of the value of those back links. Far better is to use a half dozen or so related phrases. For example, on some forums my signature anchor text uses 'vancouver seo' and on others it might say 'vancouver search engine optimization' or 'search engine optimzing' etc, etc...
Keep it varied. Google and the other engines are looking for what appears to be natural backlinks. The moment you consistently use the same anchor text for all your efforts you lose this natural feel.
Best wishes...
Ian C

man dude, I just checked that keyword through ad words that is on the 3rd page on google, and it got over 207 impressions on google alone with then 5 mintues, I had to quit it cause the bid rate was extremely high, and I would of sky rocketed my account, its going up, I'm starting to think man this can't be that easy getting a keyword up like this.

The term "Miserable Failure" is a GoogleBomb.
Bush used to rate for that term, because so many inbound links with "miserable failure" as the keyword text pointed to the Whitehouse site.
However, Google changed their algo to defeat this type of stunt.
The side effect is that you've got to be very careful with putting up too many same-text links, too fast.
You'll get trapped by this same algo.

Try motor cycle gloves and helmets then alternate it to motorcycle helmates and gloves or helmets and gloves for motorcycles
