Reciprocal links
Hi everyone,
My name is Ewelina and I work for the online marketing agency as the webmaster. I need your help guys on reciprocal links as my way of getting them seems to be ineffective. I always look for the relevant websites typing in the keywords to the search engines and then I send a link exchange request to each. It takes a lot of time and I get the positive responds very rarely...very often not responds at all.
What is your way of getting them? If anyone has any ideas please let me know...
And how about forum participation as a way of getting one way links. I heard that some people can get 6 or 7 forum posts with links very easily while I'm struggling to get 3.
Please help
Ewelina

Getting links from forums is a good way to build links. But the links need to be relevant to your site. If you have a web design site and links from this site will help. This is because the content here is relevant to web design. If you link from this forum site to an online DVD store, that may not help because the contents are different.

The positive response rate normally depends on the quality of the links page on your site. I receive around 10 link exchange request everyday but 95% of them are not interesting as the page with my link is not even indexed in Google. Other people just put 50 links in a page. Others link to pills sites...
If your links pages are not busy, are relevant, are indexed in Google and have a good PR you should get a decent response rate.
Also, try to collect links from the links pages of sites where you got a positive response from, that could work.

Good point, gobeyond. Ewelina if you look for a fast result, why don't you try the V7 contextual program?

And how do you get them? In my experience it's not so easy to generate relevant one way backlinks unless you use a paid linking strategy.

Forum posting is good for one way link. You can find related site from forum in the link exchange section of some forum.

try to search on directories that has same category with your site.. there are a lot of web sites that offer reciprocal links.. choose those web sites that may help your site-link popularity.

Also, be careful about the email content you sent. If you have too many paragraphs in it, it could be deleted right away. Try to have a short description of your request. Webmasters don't have time to read a whole page which could be reduced in 2 or 3 paragraphs.
Good Luck

Try directory submissions...
There's a plenty of free directories to submit and try this link:
http://www.directorylist.org/
Then wait for the results...

Its always like that when you do a reciprocal linking and i think its normal. There are lots of things you can do to have a backlink and traffic. Also, there are lots of link exchange directories over the net who is also looking for a reciprocal link try to visit them and exchange links with them.
