Meta Tags
How much of an effect does meta tags have these days? I know back in the day it used to be all the rage....


It is necessary for blogs, how would one go about optimising the tags in wordpress? I know there are various plugins that allow the editing of specific post meta tags.

I’ve had very good luck on msn and yahoo will almost only meta tags and little other SEO.

The description tag is worthwhile, if only because some search engines will use it as the display text in the SERPS.

Meta tags won't help in terms of ranking.

Yes Yahoo and Ask according to my experiment both use the KW tag but i can not say how powerful it is. Presume insignificantly low.

I think using meta tags still play a role in ranking on SE, Still work on having good meta tags just make sure you do not overload your description with common key words as it will be waste. Take some time and you will get it.

I've already seen this thread somewhere here in this forum... Always same questions. Meta tags still important? Of course and definitely.... It is a tags that describes the webpage what is all about... And SE still uses it as descirption to a site...

meta tags is less preffered but effect to manage your site description in search engines ranking.

meta tags... even many people said 'forget that'.
but still i will spend a minutes to find the right keyword and place into meta tag

that's why i don't understand why some people say that it's useless and just time consuming. when in fact it will not consume more than 15 minutes of your time. and there's nothing to lose in having one.
