Articles and Blogs
Hello,
Is it considered spamming if you submit your blog articles/commentary to article databases?

A lot of folks think that Supplemental Index is a bad thing because pages relegated to the supplemental index do not drive traffic.
I believe the supplemental index is almost wholly pages with non-unique text, and Google’s motivation for creating another index for that has more to do with filtering (devaluing) links from those pages than it is with keeping those pages out of their search results pages.

You do not want links from pages which consist of duplicate content. Article directories are duplicate content factories.

If you don't want to have a duplicate content just create unique article that you will post on your blog and create another article that you want to submit in article directories.

Once you submit it to article directories it will get distributed and become duplicate content, so just forget that part.

I think google knows who owns the article and who cares if it's duplicate as long as you don't place it on your site or blog. Article submission is a technique in getting traffic. If links from articles are not consider as backlinks it can still be a source of traffic.

For the most part, quality high traffic sites do not publish regurgitated articles, so I really doubt there is much traffic in it.

It depends on the article if the articles are interesting and useful many site would link to it. And your article would be published on other site. Also other readers would recommend the articles to other people.

Article directories do not contain good articles. They contain regurgitated rubbish.
If somebody is intelligent enough to write an article that gets links, he is going to be intelligent enough to put it on his own site so he can benefit from those links.

But what if your site was new and don't have good rankings. Readers won't notice your article. But if you submit your article many people can read it.

You publish good articles and then use PPC to get them noticed and linked.

Why would I spend money if I can have traffic for free?

If you want traffic for free put the articles on your own site and get the links instead of being a stooge and giving others content for free.

Do searches truly click through sponsored links? Let's say I used PPC, what happens if I am on the second + pages? What type of traffic would I get?

I dare say a well written pay per click ad gets more clicks than organic listings.

John is right, this is why on my directories I suggested to write an article unique on site owner link who wants this option.
The articles are made by my copywriter. We dont put any customer articles, we make it for them. We can master more the unique contents like that and will give a boost to the site listed. We also include some hyperlinks in the article as requested by the customers.

LOOOL! Now I understand your "I'll be nicer" quote. After all this time. Now!
I didn’t look at article submissions like that. I used to see this as a good SEO technique (and I think it used to be, in the past) but now…
Yet what do you think about sites like Associated Content or Helium? OK, there you don't give your content away for free, and at Helium you can't even publish links, but I'd really like to learn your opinion.
