Google Penalties i just kinda heard about

2 )but say that you purchase a domain name, but do not have any webspace for it, and for example, wait a few months to actually put a site up, will u be penalized?

Penalize for what ??
no content no hosting means not penalize i think so.
But your trust rank may be affected.

i read something about having a domain and webspace but no actual site up is bad, because the site still get's crawled by bots and theres some kind of penalty

Part of the confusion over Google penalty policy is not knowing what will cause a penalty. Another area of concern is what exactly Google's various punishments involve and how they are applied. Knowing how to avoid penalties entirely by only using above board optimization techniques is the best policy for every legitimate website owner to utilize.

So, I think that allthis is mere speculation.

I have been buying my domain and setting up a mini site within a couple of days. I have a template and I do a find and replace on keywords.

Then I start to build links. I guess this is why putting up even a construction page is better than having a domain with nothing on it.

no content on page = nothing for google or any other engine to index not really a penalty just nothing there,

If you have no hosting for a few days I doubt anyone would notice. But if you have no site up for months on end I'm sure your ranking will drop very quickly.
