submit your site map to yahoo. good content and back links are big help. some say the domain age is also a factor

Yahoo in some ways seems even more picky about links than Google. Sitewide links, in particular, may cause at least a temporary drop in rankings.

Yahoo also appears to include Meta Keywords in part of its calculation, which makes it he only one of the major engines to do so.

MSN also gives meta tags weight. I've found MSN and Yahoo to be very similar. I've gotten the same keywords to rank in the same positions on both. At first I thought they were just copying each other. Sometimes I still do think they are.

Optimized your text content. Yahoo gives more importance to content.

Click popularity could be an important factor to better ranking on Yahoo, but this could be difficult to investigate. You can try it, anyway.
