Google problems with special character "|"

I just wanted to share this seo evening...problems with "|" in the title...I just missed that Google could see this symbol as a word, and separate my keywords...I searched through the forum, but I couldn't find anything (probably my fault), then I searched Google and queries including "|" gave me totally different results

I know, without-"with", but maybe someone is making the same mistake...

"|" may be treated as "OR" who knows ...

“|” is the best to use in the title, it considered as “,” in Meta tag and not counted as a character that’s why all SEO experts recommend it

I think they recommend it to put a strong graphical division for the user (between DIFFERENT keywords):

- keyword | keyword | keyword -

the bot read all the keywords correctly and it's ok.

But I'm referring to

- "Chicago motorcycles" - it's the same of - "chicago - motorcycles" - while "chicago | motorcycles" it's different...

This makes some sense when you want to attach a word to your main keyword to build a combo, like in

Chicago motorcycle | pictures ....etc

I think google do not consider "|".

I have searched "SEO | SEM".

And then "SEO , SEM" and then "SEO : SEM".

First query is given different result from the later queries.

In later cases all are interpreted as "SEO/SEM".

I just started using that character for my title tags for the graphical division also. I think it really can help to format the title tags between content, to be more readable.

I heard that the ASCII code of this character will be eliminated from pages title so it will not be considered as a character or word “only in the page title”
But “. , - _ / ” will not be eliminated
