The benefit of having an old domain is that the SE consider it as having some authority compared to other and that it has an existing PR. But if you are planning for a long-term web presence, I would advice to brainstorm your domain name that suits your company name for future branding. And yeah, you need first to build your site and complete the content. If you are not a designer in profession, I suggest to hire a small web design and development company to take care of the site's design and development. This might cost you several grands but, I'll tell you now, the pay-off is good.
