Hi i have a blog site, Can i get good PR without listing my site in Web directories like Yahoo?
I am planning to put my links in paid PR>5 sites. Will that be sufficient to get good PR?
To get PR>4, How many PR>5 sites should be having my site's link?

Quality links from related sites can give you higher PR.

Don't invest too much money in buying links only. Just concentrate on getting good quality one way links to your site and make a good internet presence. Press releases, articles, blogs, directories can give you valuable link juice.

You certainly don't need links from the big directories to get PR, and relevance doesn't matter for PR, you just need links.

You can go for quantity (submit to free directories, writing articles etc) or high PR (paid links).

Beware that google is getting better at recognizing and discounting paid links. If your site suddenly had a load of PR 5+ links pointing to it, they probably wouldn't count for a while.

Why do you want high PR anyway?

several of my blogs went to pr 5 in one google pr update without being in yahoo or dmoz. it was all a lot of links in from social bookmarking sites.

Thanks for the info.
Why do you want high PR anyway? :- Good PR maximise count of hits, more hits more traffic and more traffic means more money. This is what i think, if i am wrong, please correct me.

Traffic and PR aren't really related.

You just (!) need relevant links pointing to your site. (having carefully researched keywords and written relevant content)

Joining social bookmarking sites may help increase your traffic IMO..

PR don't only depend on how many sites your linking too it is about the quality of them and if they were related to your blog...
