Does having lots of pages indexed help me?

My site now has 16,000 pages out of about 200,000 indexed in google. How much will having all 200,000 pages indexed help my PR, Keyword rankings ect. Almost all of the pages have individual meta and title tags.

It depends on how good the pages are. How much quality, unique content is on each page? Content that people will want to read. 16 good pages with a lot of unique content can be far better than 16,000 pages of crap.

Yep!

Make the pages because they are necessary to the content, not just for SEO purposes.
The content is first, the marketing is second, not the other way around.
Who are you looking to please, your readers, or just Google?

Each product of my store has it's own page. Since my store has almost 120,000 products I have a lot of pages. I didn't do this to please google but was hoping since I had a lot of pages it would have a positive effect. Since I imported the products from an excel spreadsheet I copy and pasted the product name into the meta tag fields. They have pretty much the same content except for the product names and tags. I know that creating individual product descriptions would help but it isn't practical.

Couldn't you outsource it to content writers?

The more pages that search engine will indexed the higher possibility that you can get more rankings on targeted keywords from different pages that has been indexed. But rankings would still depends on how you SEO well each page.

The more pages, weaker rankings.
(this is only for situations if you have low PR)

If your homepage has PR7 and more then 100000 quality backlinks then you can go with more pages.

Individual product descriptions would help, but I don't see that any of that hurting you.
Will it be a major help? Some, but not really, it would depend on how much competition has the same product pages.
Any good, relevant content...as original as possible, is always good.
Many product sites have duplicate content descriptions from the manufacturer, and it doesn't seem to penalize them. (especially car parts)
Just my opinion.
