Hi All,
I know, you all know these things, But still for newbies :

1.Write high quality content for better rankings.
2.Try to keep focus on one topic per page. It means target one topic in one page.
3.Get started by reasearching your target audience with target keywords.
4.Once you have got your keyword reasearch done, start immediately working on that , until it gets done.
5.start your on-page optimization i.e optimizing title tag, meta tags (though not important for google still important for yahoo and msn.), h1 tag, bolding etc.
6.After this is done start link building - one-way, two-way etc.
7.creat an account in google analytics. So that you can keep record of how much traffic you are getting, for which keywords,increased traffic, decrease traffic etc.
8.Remember to include calls to action to get response from the user.
9.Being a SEO you must know basic html with CSS.
10.creat sitemap and link all the pages through it.
11.Remember, page rank is just a piece of pie. It isnt the end all in SEO. Many good PR sites are ranked out in SERPs. But with less PR are good in SERPs.
12.Use Alt tags for images. Make sure you are using your keywords in alt tags.
13. Reasearch what are the needs of your customers and focus on that through your content. Make content much informative that user will definately land back to your site for next time.
14.Use primary keywords prominently in your pages.
15.Be careful while using keywords. Do Not use any keywords multiple time than necessary.
16.Try using different title , meta tags for all your pages.
17.Always use hyphen no underscore.
18.Make sure you are doing Press Release regularly when any update has been done on your page.
19.Join Social bookmarking site.
20.Make a Squidoo lens. It gives good traffic to your site.

1. Fresh and unique content
2. On-page optimization using competitive keywords

Can you explain what you imply by calls of action?

What is the right number for certain keywords to be used in content?
I would assume keywords have to be used reasonable number of times, so they shouldn't be annoying. Does anyone knows limitation for keyword usage?

hi,

one-way link is You get a link without having to give a link back. It means that your site must really be good because there is no reciprocation.

Two-way linking means where two sites exchange links by placing a link to each other on each site. This is a proven way to build link popularity which is now an important component of achieving high search engine rankings.

One-way links are more difficult to get than two-way links.
