I still do the odd one here and there, the best ones are not on link pages but ones that will drive traffic, I recently did one with a very popular authority site, it was perfect, I actually needed I tool to link to from one of my articles because the tool I was linking to went dead, so I contacted this authority site owner and said, look this page has had 1,600 page views in the last month and I need a tool to link to, if I link to your tool what can you offer me. He said I can either put you on page A or page B depending on how much traffic you send, either one would have been fine for me as they were both very relevant and they both had high
PR, I put his link on and told him and a couple of days later I got an email back saying, no way your page does actually send traffic almost as if he was in a state of shock (I never clicked the link either), he placed me as the no.1 link on page A and now his popular authority site is now sending me regular visitors in return. That is a perfect link exchange.
