Adding contents but no links...

... what could happen to my website?

Imagine this:

everyday I add new content;
i get no new links (no matter what reason).

What means this to SE's eyes? Bad contents? Poor site? Just few visitors?

May i be penalized for that? Or i'll receive anyway a boost effect on SERPs, just less than if i receive BL?

Do you have a blog or just a regular website?

Also, is your content unique? Try www.copyscape.com to find out.

If you have a blog, start networking! Read similar blogs and post comments. Join blog communities.

However, if your content isn't unique and just scraped from RSS, you won't have any luck. Blog readers like unique content or at least honest bloggers

Just make your design and contents catching.. If somebody likes your site they will link your site in their site (that's link baiting)...

Just adding content won't help you in any way! Neither in rankings nor in traffic!

Well write unique content and circulate them over the Internet through blogs publishing, article submission, social media and slowly you would rank well!

Go to a few of the best forums that are related to your subject/topic and start posting. After a while, after you build some credibility, you can link to some of your own pages. Also don't forget quality directory links like v7n, they are powerful and will help in increasing your link number.

just build the content and build the links

Content is awesome to start with and you should always be adding something new and fresh. Once you established content and a decent looking site start directory submissions. In the mean time you will find out of your content is good if your getting links from the content. However, if you are not exploring other "like" sites and telling people about your site then I guess your content will never be seen.

To just place content and never tell anyone about it...well it will only be you and your site forever. Sounds quaint but it's not.

well, updating your unique content well be beneficial to search engines specially to yahoo which how they weight a site. but you also do link building campaign for much better success of a site in respect of SERPs..

If your adding new content it will not boost your SERP but if you can get some quality IBL that may help your rank!

Hhhmmmm.. How are you selecting your topics? I have a 2 1/2 month old blog about blogging. I'm getting links faster than I expected. (Heck, I'm used to knitting. Getting links on knitting is not so easy.)

In any area, you need to think: what's link bait in my niche?

On Saturday, I saw a fresh new "make money blogging" topic: ReviewMe Advertorials. I jumped on that because I knew I'd get a link and I knew exactly how to write the post to get the link. On Sunday, that post was linked by DoshDosh who had probably never even read my blog until Sunday. Sure it's only one link, but new blogs have trouble getting lots of links because they have very few readers.

Over the past two weeks.I also wrote a 3 useful plugins that helps people make money blogging. I knew those would get me links and they have. Plugins are linkbait.

I've gotten links from blogs with ranks from 0 to 6. Next I'm aiming for 7!

First of all, if you want to get links, you must submit your site in directories, have link exchange, or simply forum posting. In short, promote your website after you finalized your content.

I believe that everythings has been said here. Personally I can't code or do plugins or anything fancy like that (I wish I could though).

Getting relevant links to your site is THE most important of them all. Sure you will benefit from good quality content and yes adding new fresh content will surely benefit you as well, but none of there can beat getting good links pointing in your direction
