Alternative Text
I'm thinking of changing my home page. I have images that take up quite a bit of space and wonder if I should do away with some of the text and keywords and use alternative text on the images instead. Do the search engines pick up on the alt text or will I be losing some of my keywords. Any help would be appreciated.

I think alt text of on an image help in image search.

yes, alt text are crawlable by search engines and it may help your site appear in google images.

It is factor also for Google Ranking factor in describing the image file...alt text serves as the text for image...
