you can check the stats of your website if you are using linux or windows in control panel of your hosting account you can find stats to be precise "AWSTATS" just click that you will see a very detailed report....

You can check the cached copy of your site, if you are using google toolbar.
Frequency depends on your the freshness of your site(how often you add/update) and the importance of your site.

Are you asking about your links from other site pointing to your site? If that page of that site that contains your link is already indexed that's the time that your backlinks from that site will show up.
