Blog posts go in and out of Google index quite strangely

Well I don't know if anybody else has noticed this or not but my blog posts get indexed within a day ranks for terms (moderately competitive) then suddenly vanish after a week then again come back after few days!

What is happening?

Has anybody noticed this kind of effect and what would you suggest to neutralize this effect!

Thanks!

Manish

They're most likely being handled by the news algo (or a variation thereof), as part of universal search.

Well thanks for the input peter...would you please elaborate it!

News algo...well blogs are supposed to produce an instant news...but that doesn't necessarily mean that it consists of news, that would become old if the article (or post) that i posted is up for a week! Well it keeps happening...one day i see my post indexed then after few days they are dropped...what i feel is that at least it should be kept in index!

Is there any solution to this effect?

Hi Manish, I think a way out is to Digg u r story & that will create a permanent backlink to your blog post & will neutralize this effect...

Guys, please correct me, If I am wrong.

I notice that also that Google puts a newly sites (like blog posts, sites, articles, etc...) in ranking after a while then it suddenly disappeared...I think Google is giving others (sites) to rank in their SE. I wonder why? Is that their new algorithm giving others especially new sites to rank? Hmmmm.. What do you think?

When we talk about Google every discussion converges to one point...Google's trust! If your web site is trusted by Google (i.e. if you are not doing anything shady) they will put you up, no questions asked!

manish, thats may be happening with your blog, or may be google is personaly dislike your blog or may be google has designed a different algo only for your blog (that was just a joke)
i think thats a usual thing, sometimes picture seems to be very unlawful, i can understand that, you should do something else to overcome it

Hi,

I have also noticed it that my all new posts on my blog at bloggers.com usually indexed within a few days by google and ranked among top but just after few days sometimes it goes to down a lot or some times it shows that like post isn't in index and again a few days later i found it in index and ranked among 10-12 position.

I also noticed that articles from my blog which i had posted on other article Dir's also ranked among top and at that time my blog post for that article goes down a lot in ranking compare to my blog article posted on other article directory....I also confused about whats' and why this all happening.

It is a common thing for Google, it places you in the SERPs somewhere high when the post is fresh, and than after awhile finds your page the exact place in the SERPs. Well, at least you will have few hours of glory if you can't compete for that given keyword/phrase .
