How can know the exact position a site in the search result?

Hi,

Most page position tools don’t go farther than the 1000 place. How can know the exact position of my site in the search result if it’s not in the first 1000 (or even first million) search result?

thanks

As far as I know this isn't possible without digging yourself - although if you farther than the 100 place there isn't really a point to knowing how further in the results it is. Every rank checker I have used goes to about 100, but then again I usually only use the seomoz.org rank checker.

that is my big problem when i'm just starting to learn SEO... I want to know whether my keywords is really increasing its position or not.. I didn't find also a tool that checks your rankings >1000... what I do is I patiently build links with my targeted keywords and at after that,, I see its changes...

If your site is not there in the 1000 count then its not worth looking for a tool and check where the hell the site is. You just need to optimize your site from the basics and build up organic links and load decent content containing your targeted keywords like what toinkz mentioned and there you'll see your site somewhere in the front pages.

If you are ranking 1000+ , instead of spending time figuring out where you are, spend that time doing some promotion to get ranked in the first place.

Even on extremely competitive terms, you should be able to get in the top 100 without too much effort under most circumstances.

How old is your site? If it is new build/up then probably you need more time to build link, optimize your site with some targeted keywords.

Yeah I would agree with what some of the above members mentioned about optimizing your site and getting content and links for your site as it would make your site come up as well it will also make you fell better because knowing that your site is no where in the 2000 list also is just going to make you more depressed and you would not want that.

Search your site manually using your own browser, then set your results to 100 then open another page for the same SE, but set your results to 10.
