I read in a SEO book that to bring visitors to your site you can post a weird message on forums, and place the url of the site you are promoting, and people will read this f..ing message and visit your web. I have done, placed a message with adult content, very bizarre and foolish and now I am suffering from my own foolishness. I found out then that the site I am promoting can be banned for such matter. What is to be done? Or there is no way out? I feel sick from making such a mistake....

First of all, before you promote a site, check the site's history before you simply promote it. Second, monitor the site if there are BH techniques used. Third, submit a letter of reinclusion to Google.

Black Hat, bad stuff. Baddies. Baddies wear black hats, Goodies wear white hats, and Goodies do white hat SEO.

Here, use this link to find out all you want about Black hat SEO
http://websearch.about.com/od/seononos/a/spamseo.htm
Of course it not worth doing it, only if you want your site to be in google for short time, like a special promotion site or a one time anounsment. If you want your site to be in google for long time, so dont do black SEO, use the white hat, if you have someone good to make it, it wont take so long to get top ranking without "cheating"

Hi Conkurent!
'Black Hat' could mean any number of things like:
Hidden text, either putting keywords in comment tags in the source code < >, white text on white background, text hidden in <div>s
Creating hundreds of microsites to get link popularity (link farm)
There's all sorts of black hat stuff.
It's not worth it though - e.g. BMW got their main site in Germany removed from Google for using hidden text - I'd hate to be the SEO company that made that happen. Concentrate on making a quality site that satisfies the needs of its visitors and that's a much more certain route to success.

you are right, anyway learning what it is won't hurt, black SEO must be quite unappropriate...
