Since last night John Chow announced that he was going to replace his wordpress theme with a new personalized theme. It was amazing that minutes after he replaced his blog and was using the new theme comments started to float on his Do you like my theme post, now he has like 160+ comments, as much as XHTML errors.
Thing that got me really curious is that everyone commented about the look of the theme and no one got interested to click the right button of their mouse and check source code of the page. I wonder if even John Chow did looked at the code, i bet he liked the theme look and was enthusiast that he didn't even checked the code, even tho till few days ago his main traffic source were search engines (and i believe still is).
The themes code had few "errors" (even tho they were intentionally made for don't know what reason the designer made them tho), it had empty alt tags for the images, empty divs, excessive javascript has been used and the words..it had hidden text.
I realized John was sleeping at the time when everyone was commenting (time zone difference) or he was busy doing something else, there for i decided to write a post on [link removed]whats wrong with John Chow's new theme, later on i let John know about this post and he commented back that he had read the post and will consider some of the things and get the designer to read also the post and make the changes.
But what makes me really wonder is, what distracted John Chow the dot com mogul not to take a look at the code source? Probably the idea of doubling the income of the blog with the new ad spots and the new sponsors

(well, in that case i do completely understand him, but i would not understand him if he doesn't consider making those small but necessary changes for his blog theme).
