google backlinks or webmaster tools links....what is imp???

hi all,

i have one confusion...
It might be stupid question...but i want anyone of u to clear this doubt...

As all of us know backlinks are more important to rank well in google or any SE.

So which backlink google count for determining rank :

The links which we get from
1.link:www.domain-name.co.uk

or the links from
2. Google webmasters tool...

My second question is :
what is the difference between :

link:domain-name (get less backlinks)

link : domain-name (get more backlinks)

Thanks in Advance...

The link:domain.com is just samples of the site displayed...while on Google Webmasters tools are your external links and internal links as of last cache by the SE.

On the number 2 I don't get it...

link:domain-name (get less backlinks)

link : domain-name (get more backlinks)

Is this what you mean?

when you see links when you type link:domain.com you see less or more links?

Is that it?

Google made one Link Command tool..

link:domain-name

But I get your point, link : domain-name shows different result

but for me I only rely on the standard command.

Google Webmaster tool links are the ultimate ones in knowing the exact BL's wrt GOOGLE.

If it is Yahoo, then Yahoo Site Explorer will be the best.

Sites that link to you that are displayed when you perform a link: search query are those sites that Google believes do have some weight on the "voting system".

While the links that are you displayed in the Webmaster tools are all the sites that point to your site (this does not mean that they do not have a weight on the voting system).

Which one is important? Both. It's just that Google determines which links should be displayed in public.
