Confusion over directory links
Hi i need some help,
About 6 months ago i submitted my site to some high PR paid sites, aviva directory, site-sift,joeant and others i also submitted my site to other free high PR sites, google indexed these and counted them as a link to my site,
yesterday whilst checking on marketleap.com i found that now all of those high PR links are not being counted on my site by google anymore yet when checking the directories my link is still on their sites,
Can anyone explain why my link on there site is no longer valid in googles link popularity?

Check backlinks via yahoo:
linkdomain:sitename.com -site:sitename.com
Google doesn't show all backlinks.

If google doesn't show some backlinks that doesn't mean that google moved those backlinks value.
Google shows random backlinks and please do not look for backlinks on google.
Everybody knows it.

Google it did showed, but now it has revalued those links and thinks that they should not be displayed in public. There is nothing wrong with this, nor it does mean that those links don't count, its just Google's decision not to display those sites as backlinks of your site.

my links are still in the same catergories and my ranking doesn't seem to have changed, which i have found odd as i have been building lots of links with other sites in the expectation that my positioning would get higher,

Google don't show all your backlinks,But it will show after the backlink update..
Try this one if you want to check your backlinks but i am not sure if this one will show the result accurately..

PageRank isn't per-site, but rather per-page. Maybe the pages you submitted to had low PR.

Google has always shown only a sample of the links coming into your site. These links are updated in the search results every 3 - 6 weeks. Even though google only shows a small sample, this does not mean that google doesn't count the other backlinks when displaying search results. Google updates its search result pages for standard searches continuously, and these search results take into account all links that google has found...
Try using the Google's Webmaster tools... If you have account you can just login and see all your links there...
