Jeremy Schoemaker reports that he was blackmailed into paying for staying in the DMOZ.org open directory. The editor reportedly wanted 5K to prevent deletion.
OK, it's fairly well known that pay-to-play exists in the murkier corners of DMOZ, but 5k?? The rogue editor should have gone for something a little more plausible
Ye, it is a bit to much, i dont know who Jeremy Schoemaker is, but maybe the editor thought its small money for him? beside, what does he have to lose.. it cost nothing to ask...
Everyone may contact DMOZ's meta editors in order to report abuse. I would do it rather than complaining anywhere else ( http://report-abuse.dmoz.org/ ). In addition, there is http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/ where man can get answers to questions regarding DMOZ.
