Thumbs up Difference between Google, Yahoo and MSN Search Strategies

Hi everybody.....

I Satyanand Verma, a Software Engineer in VTLGlobal Inc., Noida, India. Right now, I am taking the responsibility of SEO activities and I am new one in this field & I am optimizing our site [link removed].

So, I want to know the difference between search strategies on which basis the results are displayed. Are they same for all search engines or any difference is there.....

If there is any difference then....anybody let me know how to optimize our site, so that all top search engines displayed our results in top rankers.....

Can anybody tell me .....what points are keep in mind when optimizing our site with respect to google ,yahoo and MSN seperately.....?

Looking for your positive replies.....

Thanks and regards.....

Michael, I think he is not seo but a software engineer with less knowledge in SEO. We need to help him in finding solution for seo problem. There is a lot to consider for search engine strategies.
Google algorithm is to get quality and related backlinks as to achieved high page rank
MSN and Yahoo is more focus on keyword density and content (CMS)

That was an irony, obviously

Google give more weight to authority, old domains, established sites.
Yahoo is basicly all about links, all links are good for rankings
and MSN doesn't have much traffic anyway

Besides that all things are almost equal. Get some decent content and lots of links..

I dnt even consider msn and yahoo..i get 70% of traffic from google and 15% from
yahoo another 15% from various source.
frst add your site to google.and try to create quality backlinks..and concentrate on keywords..if its html pages google loves it.while submitting 2 directories concentrate on the keywords and title.share your links with social bookmarking sites..

Google, Yahoo and MSN have they own strategies in terms of Search Strategies.... which Yahoo and MSN is not even closer to Google with this kind of strategies.. Google is the big SEs among the three... You can optimize by following their rules in terms of SEO... They have different algorithms as far as everyone knows...

My advice is, yes there are many differences between yahoo, msn, & google BUT I would not worry about them, in fact you should completely ignore them as it's a waste of time. Aim for Google, everything else will fall in place. Google is over 50% of the market, everything else is crumbs & will usually fall into place anyway.

Yea I agree with Zibblu,
Just follow John Scott's guide to SEO and don't worry about differences between algorithms. There are plenty of things to focus on, but that is not one of them.

All strategies are the same, just focus on the greatest SEO enemy of all, Google, and the rest is easy.

From my experience, I think that Google's traffic has the most ROI, i.e. conversions of visitors to buyers. My judgement is based on relative terms of percentages, i.e. for any equal traffic from Google, Yahoo and MSN, Google's traffic is the most targeted and profitable.

Thus, if I were you, I would target Google as a target search engine.

However, you should always try to market to all of the three in case something happens with one of them, your business can stay awake.

The strategies of the 3Big Search Engines is just the same. However, they have their own algorithm, rules and factors in ranking a site. I think Google prefers quality links while Yahoo and MSN are for on-page factors... therefore, you should optimize both on-page and off-page
